Description: Special Report
Abstract: A summary of the first-, second-, and third-order design steps for the three land treatment unit processes (slow infiltration, rapid infiltration and overland flow) within the CAPDET model is presented. The first-order design, consisting of the basic sanitary engineering processes for slow infiltration, rapid infiltration, and overland flow, is described in terms of the selected procedures and the computer format. The second-order design is a description of the quantities and sizes calculated for each land treatment process. The third-order design is the calculation of the unit process costs by applying prices to the quantities and sizes calculated during the second-order design step.
