Description: Special Report
Abstract: Sea ice conditions recorded during the Weddell Polynya Expedition (Oct-Nov 1981) are presented in several formats. These include an ice conditions map prepared by the ship's meteorological crew, a narrative ice log supplemented by photographs taken by one of the authors, and daily satellite photographs. These are presented in a format compiling each day's conditions on one or two pages. These observations are being correlated with other satellite-based estimates of ice conditions, and with other oceanographic and meteorological measurements made during the expedition.
