Abstract: Two U.S. scientists visited Kolyma Water Balance Station (KWBS) in Magadan Oblast of northeast U.S.S.R. during the last two weeks of August 1976. Under the auspices of the Joint U.S.A. - U.S.S.R. Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Environmental Protection, this trip was undertaken to review current Soviet watershed hydrology research in a permafrost-dominated setting similar to that of central Alaska. Research objectives, instrumentation, and field practices were observed and discussed at KWBS. A series of proposals for future cooperation in high-latitude hydrology research .and data exchange was prepared.-
