Description: Technical report
Abstract: The objective of this catalog was to document the visible near-infrared reflectance spectra (400-2500nm) of vegetation, soils, rocks, and man-made materials, and to provide information about their unique physical and chemical properties. Spectra were taken of representative samples of a particular plant species or soil type and selected conditions so that a specific feature could be evaluated. Seasonal differences in vegetation spectra were measured for tree, shrub, herbaceous, and grass species. Soils having different textures and moisture potentials were measured. These spectra summarize results of ongoing research in different environments, although spectra were taken in semiarid and arid environments.
