Description: | Technical report Abstract: Three methods approximating the best subset of four or five of N observable GPS satellites to be used for calculating spatial positions are evaluated. Position Dilution of Precision (POOP) is used as the measure of effectiveness. Three GPS constellations are considered. The user spatial positions are taken from circular orbits ranging from 100 to 2400 nautical miles above the earth and from orbital inclinations ranging from O degrees to 90 degrees in 15 degree increments. |
