Description: | Miscellaneous Paper Abstract: Axisymmetric calculations using the HULL hydrocode exhibit peculiar jetlike artifacts near the axis of symmetry. A series of numerical experiments were performed to determine the cause of this behavior. Governing equations and boundary conditions in the HYDRO subroutine were modified and tested. Results show considerable improvements of the artifacts. Calculations were performed with an airblast model and compared with experimental data and previous calculations. |
